Service Continuity Management
Service Continuity (also known as I.T. Disaster Recovery), involves the management and testing of the procedures required to ensure immediate or rapid recovery of critical technology infrastructure in the event of an unplanned outage caused by natural or human-induced events.
The DR Planning module in Factonomy BCM can aid in the capture, storage and analysis of the data and procedures required to maintain robust and resilient systems.
A disaster recovery plan is a comprehensive statement of consistent actions to be taken before, during and after a disaster. The plan should be documented and tested to ensure the continuity of operations and availability of critical resources in the event of a disaster.
Other objectives of disaster recovery planning include:
- Providing a sense of security;
- Minimizing the risk of delays.;
- Guaranteeing the reliability of standby systems;
- Providing a standard for testing the plan;
- Minimizing decision-making during a disaster.
